The newsroom tip line got notice of fans camping out at the Orion Amphitheater since Monday for the Thursday night Lana Del Ray concert, “People are coming all over the country,” one fan, Elizabeth Dunlap, said. Fans from NYC to New Mexico to California to Seattle.

Camping isn’t the only way these fans have shown their dedication to Del Rey, they all have their own Lana-inspired tattoos. “She raised us and saved us,” Jay Pruitt said. “She has done so much for people.” As he shows me his Lana Del Rey tattoo reference on his arm.

When asked why they like Lana and her music, the group’s answers all came back to one simple thing – they connect to it.

“The big thing about her, especially being in Alabama, she romanticizes the mundane things – trailer parks, gas stations, and she makes the simple life seem glamourous,” fan Hannah Wilson stated. “She gets my emotions out for me, so I do not have to feel bad,” said Jay Pruitt. “Small-town people can still feel special,” Anna Pruitt added.

Not only did we find a dedicated group of Lana fans but we found how Lana brings people together and creates friendships. Ally Hunter, Hannah Wilson, Anna Pruitt, Elizabeth Dunlap all met before during a concert campout in Atlanta while Jay just recently met the group of ladies.

Anna Pruitt shared one final message for Del Rey ahead of the show, a thought shared by the group: “Lana, we love you – we have been waiting 11 years for this.”
